Reference Questionnaires allow your team to reuse previously completed questionnaires as a resource when answering new ones. This helps improve answer consistency, increase autofill accuracy, and reduce time spent reviewing responses.
💡 Tip: We recommend uploading high-quality questionnaires that are well-reviewed and align with your most common customer requests.
What is a Reference Questionnaire?
A Reference Questionnaire is a previously completed questionnaire that’s been uploaded to HyperComply and tagged as a reference. HyperComply will scan the document and use the Q&A pairs as part of your knowledge base to improve autofill results in future questionnaires.
Submit a Completed Questionnaire as Reference Material
You can add Reference Questionnaires directly from the Knowledge Base section of your workspace.
Go to the Knowledge Base
From your HyperComply dashboard, click “Knowledge Base” in the left-hand sidebar.
Select the “References” tab
Navigate to the “References” tab at the top of the Knowledge Base.
Click “Add Reference”
In the top right, click “Add Reference” to begin uploading your file.
Choose your import method
After clicking “Add Reference,” you’ll see a menu with several import options:
HC Team import: Submit your file for HyperComply’s team to process manually.
Single Q&A pairing: Manually enter a single question and answer pair.
Self-import your file: Upload and process your file on your own.
Auto-import file questionnaire: Use HyperComply’s AI to automatically detect and extract Q&A pairs from your file. Recommended for standard-formatted questionnaires.
Upload your file
Drag and drop your completed questionnaire or click to upload. Supported file types include .xlsx, .xls, .csv, .docx, and .pdf.
Add details
Such as Customer Name, Expiry, Segments, Additional Notes, etc.
Submit
After submission, HyperComply will process the file and extract Q&A pairs. These will be used to improve autofill performance on future questionnaires.
Once the Reference Questionnaire has been imported, the HyperComply team will notify the Owner that the import is complete.
Please note that Reference Questionnaires do not adhere to your organization's SLA with HyperComply. However, the team will do their best to ensure a speedy upload.
Add an individual Q&A pairing
If you want to manually add a single question and answer to your Knowledge Base—for example, to preserve an important clarification or a one-off response—you can do so using the Single Q&A pairing option in the Knowledge Base.
Click “Add Reference”
In the top right, click “Add Reference” to open the import options.
Select “Single Q&A pairing”
From the dropdown menu, choose “Single Q&A pairing.”
Type in your Question and Answer(s) in the window that pops up.
You can click "+ Add answer" to enter multiple answers to a question.
You can add the new Q&A pairing to an existing reference questionnaire by selecting it from the dropdown menu at the bottom or create a new one.
Self-Importing a reference questionnaire
Self Import for .xlsx Files
To use self-import Excel files as reference questionnaires, follow the steps below:
1. Click “+ Add Reference” button on the top on the page and select “Self-Import file questionnaire”
2. Add your desired file and select Next. Currently, HyperComply only accepts .xlsx - additional format options are coming soon.
3. Fill out the standard questionnaire information including the Name, Customer, Owner, Segments, etc. and select 'Submit'
4. You will then be taken to the self-import wizard where you will need to identify Question and Answer fields, in the same selection, from your file.
You can use Shift + Click to make your selection.
5. Once you've selected the fields that you want to import, it will automatically appear on the right panel
6. Click “Add selection” > will be added in the “Ready For Import” section
You can use the “c” key shortcut to add the selection
7. If you have multiple sheets/tabs, repeat Steps 6 and 7 after changing sheets using the drop-down button on the top right. Once done and you need to rearrange the ordering of the sheets for the final file, drag the sheets around in the Import wizard on the right.
8. If you want to preview what the questionnaire will look like in the HyperComply app, select the 'Preview questionnaire' button on the bottom right side of the panel.
9. If you are happy with the preview, select 'Yes, start importing' at the bottom of the page.
10. Once done, you'll be taken to the Reference Questionnaire. This collection of Q&A pairings will be in your Knowledge Base to be used for future questionnaires.
