How to Autofill the OneTrust Portal Using the Chrome Extension

HyperComply’s Chrome extension streamlines the OneTrust questionnaire completion process by automatically detecting and filling in answers from your Knowledge Base.

Process description:

This article will allow users to understand the steps required to find, review and complete the questionnaires that utilize the OneTrust portal using the Chrome extension.

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure you have the correct permissions as the User must be the Owner, an Approver or an Admin to Complete the security questionnaire

  • Access to your company’s OneTrust portal

Gathering materials/resources:

  • Speak to your HyperComply Admin if a change in your User account is required

    • If you are unsure who your HyperComply Admin is, please reach out to your CSM directly or contact HyperComply Support through our Support Request Portal here

  • Speak to your company’s OneTrust Admin if you need access to your company’s OneTrust portal

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Log into your company’s OneTrust web portal

  2. Navigate to a page containing questions and open the HyperComply Chrome Extension

  3. Click Autofill a new questionnaire to detect questions and their answer placements

  4. Click Start Autofill to begin the process

  5. Enter your questionnaire details when prompted—this creates a portal submission in your active HyperComply tab

  6. Autofill will take place in real time, inserting answers one by one using AI and your Knowledge Base

    ​Optional: Autofill Conditional Questions as some portals display conditional questions based on previous answers. When new questions appear:

    1. The Chrome extension detects them and prompts you to autofill

    2. Click Start Autofill again to populate the conditional responses

    3. This process repeats until all conditional questions are detected and filled

  7. After autofill is complete, use the navigation arrows to navigate through questions and review the answers provided by HyperComply

  8. If a better response is needed, click Find a different answer to search your Knowledge Base for a more relevant match

  9. Any newly selected answers are automatically synced back to HyperComply

    ​Optional: Add Missing Answers if a question was not autofilled

    1. Click Find a different answer to search your Knowledge Base

    2. Copy and paste the selected answer into the portal

    3. Any manual additions are automatically synced back to HyperComply

      ​Optional: Autofill Other Sections

      1. Open the next section of the questionnaire and the extension will detect the new section and prompt you to auto-detect and autofill

      2. Repeat the autofill steps for each section until the entire questionnaire is completed

  10. After reviewing and filling out all sections, click Complete Questionnaire

  11. The completed questionnaire is stored in the Completed tab

  12. Open your completed questionnaire to see all the question and answer pairings saved from your OneTrust portal
