The HyperComply Microsoft Teams integration streamlines your security workflow. With this integration, you can:
Share Questions: Send questionnaires or specific security questions directly to channels or Direct Messages (DMs).
Answer in Teams: Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) can answer questions directly within Teams without needing to create a HyperComply account first (Auto-Create User support).
Centralize Notifications: Receive alerts for questionnaire progress and Trust Page access requests directly in Teams.
***Important Update: Version 1.04 We have released a new version of the Teams app (v1.04) to support notifications and auto-onboarding.
New Users: Follow the setup instructions below.
Existing Users: You must remove the existing integration from your Microsoft Teams environment before following the setup steps below to unlock these new features.
Prerequisites
You must be an Admin in HyperComply.
You must be an Admin in Microsoft Teams (to grant organizational permissions).
Step 1: Grant Admin Consent (Mandatory)
Before connecting the integration in HyperComply, a Microsoft Teams Administrator must grant the necessary permissions.
Navigate to the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal.
Search for the HyperComply application.
Grant Admin Consent to the required permissions.
Note: These permissions allow the app to securely access your Teams organization data for features like Direct Messaging and Channel posting.
Step 2: Connect HyperComply
Once Admin Consent is granted, you can connect the workspace.
Log into HyperComply and navigate to Settings > Integrations.
Locate Microsoft Teams and click Get HyperComply for Teams.
[If the integration does not appear, please contact your CSM to enable it.]
Select Get it now and sign in to your Microsoft account.
Confirm your details and select Get it now.
Open Microsoft Teams when prompted.
Select Add to complete the configuration.
Select Connect to HyperComply to link your user account.
Enter your HyperComply credentials to finish the setup.
Note on SSO/SAML: If your organization has SSO/SAML enabled, users can log in using their identity provider (IDP) during the integration process. Learn how to configure SSO here.
Sending Questions via Teams
You can send questions to colleagues via Direct Message or to a specific Teams Channel.
Navigate to the specific question or questionnaire you want to share.
Click the More button (three dots) on the right side of the question.
Select Share to Teams.
Select the desired team member or channel from the dropdown list.
Bulk Sharing: To share multiple questions at once, select the checkboxes to the left of the questions, then click Share to MS Teams in the bottom menu.
Questions will be sent directly to your team member as a Direct Message from HyperComply.
Answering Questions in Teams
When you send a question to a team member, they receive a Direct Message from the HyperComply bot.
New Feature: Users do not need a pre-existing HyperComply account to answer. If they are not yet a user, they will be automatically onboarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when they engage with the question.
The user views the question directly in the Teams chat.
They enter their answer and select Submit.
The answer syncs to HyperComply in real-time.
Note: If you had the HyperComply browser window open, you may need to refresh the page to see the new answer.
